Wendy Lynghoj

Bred in Denmark by the Nornberg’s. A stunning sport type mare with an abundance of presence, very tall, athletic and correct.

This young mare was presented to the judges in 2018 at just 3 years old where she was awarded a 9 overall and took home Best Mare and Best in Show.

KNN Judges: Wendy Lynghøj by Toftegaardens Codex KNN 222 and Gemma KNN 2112. Wendy was presented by Natalie Vestby Nørnberg from Aars, who is the daughter of Verner Nørnberg, well known breeder and owner of knabstrupper stallions – it is nice to see the torch being passed on to the next generation. Wendy was the mare with the best grading of the day and received the overall score of 9, and it came as no surprise when she was “Best Mare” later in the day.

We have managed to have retained all of Wendy’s offspring so far. Her first colt, Contender Lynghoj, is now gelded and is being produced by Isabella Jones Eventing and will be available later down the line as a competition prospect. Definitely a pair to watch.

In 2021 we had our first Yggdrasil foal from Wendy, by the late Nobodys Harlequin. A superb white born few spot colt foal, Yggdrasil Loki, that we have decided to retain for now in the hope that he will make a good homozygous stallion prospect in the future, we have also retained her 2022 colt by Don Ricoss……
